A home appraisal determines the generally accepted value of a home and the land it sits on. Many factors go into determining the value of a home including its location, square footage, functionality, upgrades, and other criteria. 

We mean it when we say that this isn’t your grandparent’s housing market. 60 years ago the median home price was around $21,000 – about four times the annual household income. All things being equal, this might be a financial cost today’s families could absorb with the right planning. Then came COVID-19.

With the feverish pace at which mortgage rates and home prices are rising, you may feel a sense of urgency to find a new house now, rather than wait until you’ve saved up a large down payment. As of 2021, millennials made up about 37% of all homebuyers in the U.S., making them the largest percentage of buyers in the nation. On top of that, this younger generation is making a large impact on the homebuying market in terms of how they go about the process.
